Leading the JCC’s efforts to encourage the diversification of the Jamaican economy into targeted non-traditional industries with demonstrable growth; driving the JCC’s efforts to encourage the divestment of government entities.

Finance & Administration

To develop and institute a sustainable business model for the JCC that will enable it to deliver on its Mission and Vision.

Legislation, Regulations & Process Improvement (LEGS & REGS) Committee

The Legislation, Regulations & Process Improvement Committee (Legs & Regs) advocate for changes to Jamaica’s legislation and regulations and business processes so as to contribute to the creation & maintenance of an enabling business environment.

The Legs & Regs Committee focus on existing or proposed legislation, regulations, and processes that are considered of major importance to the business community, as identified by the membership of the JCC.

Accordingly, it:

  1. Periodically survey the membership to identify current issues in each of the categories (viz. The legislation, Regulations, and Business Processes)
  2.  Seek inputs from other JCC Committees.
  3. Research and deliver information to familiarize JCC members with issues and their current/potential impact (e.g. by briefings, seminars etc.)
  4. Is proactive, via lobbying and advocacy, in ensuring that the nation’s legislative agenda is rightfully positioned to create and support an enabling business environment.


Championing/supporting the international competitiveness of sub-committees focused on specific Industries seen as pivotal to the rebound of the Jamaican economy.

Membership Services

Directing all activities designed to attract and retain members, to ensure diversification of membership (e.g. greater engagement with women-owned businesses, family-owned businesses, MSMEs etc.) including the development of innovative products and services; increase their interaction with the JCC and their participation in JCC activities, engagement with potential sponsors and donors etc.

Energy Committee

The Energy Committee is responsible to advocate for the improvement of affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for Jamaicans in general and Jamaican Businesses in particular.  It is also responsible to push for diversity in the energy sector that creates a good balance.

The Energy Committee focus on having an open and frank dialogue on matters identified by the membership of the JCC.

Accordingly, it:

  1. Encourage and advocate for the improvement and development of affordable, reliable and secure energy.
  2. Periodically survey the membership to identify issues of interest or their impact occurring in the sector.
  3. Seeks input from and give to other JCC committees.
  4. Identify energy projects that are important for the development and sustainability of the sector.
  5. Research and deliver information to familiarize JCC members with issues and their current/potential impact (e.g. by briefings, seminars etc.)
  6. Influence and work with the relevant agencies to advance energy policy and provide a forum for the exchange of relevant information and resources.
